Grand Tour
For our rising Seniors, Atlanta Classical Christian Academy is planning a Grand Tour of the landmarks of the growth of Western Civilization and the rich history of the spread of Christianity. We believe that “travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living” (Miriam Beard). As our students study the great timeline of people and events, we want to enrich their understanding by experiencing Ancient Greece and Rome, medieval and Renaissance art and architecture, as well as the current culture of Europe. Anticipating the Tour, Juniors will take special classes on the Grand Tour and Art History. Students will keep travel journals and prepare formal presentations of their personal journeys as a part of their Senior Rhetoric class.
